1. Information We Collect

We only collect what we need to run your account and your studying:

• Account details — name, email, and password (passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text).
• Profile information you choose to add — such as gender, graduation year, country/city, mobile, and preferred specialty.
• Study activity — your answers, accuracy, progress, bookmarks, saved/flagged questions, daily goals, study time, and spaced-repetition history.
• Subscription & payment proof — the receipt/screenshot you submit (e.g. Qi / SuperQi) so we can verify and activate access.
• Community content — messages, links, and activity you create in Study Groups.
• Basic technical data — device/session information used to keep your account secure.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

• Operate the platform and keep you signed in securely.
• Track your progress and personalize your study experience (statistics, spaced repetition, review mistakes).
• Verify payments and manage your per-specialty subscription and referral rewards.
• Send the notifications and reminders you enable.
• Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security violations.

3. Payments

Payments are made manually (e.g. via Qi / SuperQi) and reviewed by our team before access is activated. We store the payment proof you submit and your subscription status. We do not collect or store full card numbers or banking credentials on the platform.

4. Study Groups & Your Content

Content you post in Study Groups (messages, links, study activity) is visible to other members of that group. Please do not share sensitive personal information in group chats. Group content may be moderated or removed if it violates our Terms of Use.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser’s local storage to remember preferences (theme, language) and to cache content for faster loading. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data:

• Passwords are hashed and sensitive fields are encrypted.
• Database access is restricted with row-level security.
• Account sign-ins are limited to a small number of devices, with optional two-factor authentication for administrators.
• Activity is monitored to detect suspicious behavior.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We only share data with the trusted service providers needed to run the platform (such as our database hosting and email delivery), and only as required to provide the service or comply with the law.

8. Your Rights & Controls

You stay in control of your data:

• Edit your profile and preferences whenever you like.
• Permanently delete your account and data (Settings → Account) — this cannot be undone.

9. Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data and study progress are permanently removed, except where we are required to keep limited records by law.

10. Eligibility

Medwize Academy is intended for medical students and healthcare professionals. The platform is not directed at children, and accounts should be created by adults or under appropriate supervision.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform evolves. Significant changes will be reflected here, and continued use of the platform means you accept the updated policy.
